Subject: PARTNER SEARCH FOR A TELETRAINING PLATFORM

SUBJECT
The project proposal aims at the development of a generic teletraining
platform covering the needs for administration and delivery of training
courses and related security requirements.

IST ACTION LINE
This proposal is planned to be submitted to the March 99 call for proposals
of the IST Programme in Key Action III, action line 3.1 - "Open platforms
and tools for personalised learning".

SUMMARY
Initiated by FORMATION CREATION and by EURITIS, the project proposal aims
at the development of a generic teletraining platform that will tackle the
needs of teletraining service providers and of public instigators (local,
regional authorities, etc) of these providers who want to set-up
teletraining services or improve existing ones. The platform will be
flexible in order to meet the requirements of different operators
(educational institutions, training services in large corporations, etc.),
who want to exploit the capabilities of standard telecommunication networks
and platforms (Internet, Intranet, PCs) and who need efficient, integrated
easy-to-deploy and operate, cost-effective solutions for running
teletraining courses.
Starting from existing knowledge and solutions developed in past RTD
projects such as TEMPLE and COPYSMART, complementary developments and
integration with security technology will be achieved, to provide the
Teletraining platform with the functions required for course and student
management.

CONSORTIUM
A core consortium has been built for the project:
FORMATION CREATION is a 20 years old French SME of 40 people specialised
for more than eight years in teletraining solutions. They have been
involved in several European projects like in the Telematics programme
through the TEMPLE project (see web site http://www.telejob).
EURITIS is a French company of 24 employees specialised in software
engineering (and partner of GEMPLUS, the world leader in smart cards) and
providing state-of-the-art solutions in:
	* Secured electronic transactions, including payment, for electronic
commerce environment.
	* Intellectual Property Right (IPR) protection and management.
	* Information retrieval system.
EURITIS has a sound success record in providing technical expertise and
assistance to its partners and in particular to editors and institutions in
the education sector, like in the FP4 projects COPEARMS, COPICAT, COPYSMART
and EMPLOY.

We are looking for a technical competency complement.

Searched partner profils:
	* Expert on teletraining platform development covering all aspects
concerning communication (Internet, videoconferencing system, ..), system
integration and administration, course configuration management and
delivery (Web database, ..).
	* Expert on on-line linguistic aspects.
	* Expert on human interface technologies.
