SIG-traCE Project aims at building a Public Transport Management Consortium in order to optimize the flow management of public transportation (mainly assumed by collectif taxi run by private companies) and to enhance the competitiveness of theses SMEs providing public transport services(taxis, ambulances, school buses). The project is based on tracking satellite system and IT embedded technologies (GPS and GSM/GPRS coupling network). The service will be under the controle of the local authorities. The citizen will access innovative geographical service of information provided : >stop-to-stop and on the spot vehicle positioning >special or toll free number >SIG traCE web and wap- sites >interactive kiosks The Market Validation of the SIG-traCE would brig added values into European Ultraperipheral Regions, and new Member States as regard of inclusion, social cohesion and environmental impacts territorial policies evaluation and best practices exchange.
