Have minimal a Web site (creation 350$, lodging 115$/an), intended to present the company, which operates on a world niche: the rebuilding of the automobile halfshafts of propulsion.
Mr. POWERS is enough skeptic on the use of Internet in general. One finds much information without interest there, which does not exclude some interesting exceptions:
    • the E-mail for personal use
    • air reservations
    • remote loading of programmes of piloting of the machine tools (fast, and sufficiently sure)
Currently, the personnel of the company (149 people, partly on 2 stations) does not use the Intranet functions. Management does not want to connect the internal network on the exterior, by fear of the viruses.
For its relationships to its network of 1200 " rebuilders ", the company prefers to diffuse its catalogue by CD-Rom (sold 6,50$) which makes it possible to better adapt, using " supplements ", to some local characteristics of the first assembles (ex: Mexico).
For its needs for inventory, the company had to yield with the standard " Universal Protocol " of marking of the parcels by bar code.
