Le nom des 25 préslectionnés pour le

THE 1999 EUROPEAN IST PRIZE WINNERS

ont ete annonce le 20 septembre.

Ce prix, dote de 725 000 Euros est destine a encourager l'innovation dans le
secteur des NTIC en Europe. Ce prix est gere par EUROCASE, The European
Council
of Applied Sciences and Engineering, et est sponsorise par l'Union europeenne
(programme IST). Chaque gagnant recevra 5 000 Euro et jouira d'une bonne
couverture mediatique.
Parmi ces 25 candidats seront selectionnes 3 grands gagnants qui recevront
chacun 200 000 Euros. Cette selection sera annoncee au cours d'une grande
ceremonie prevue le 23 novembre a Helsinki lors de la conference IST 1999.

Les produits selectionnes couvrent une large gamme d'application allant des
solutions pour la securite des reseaux, aux equipements portables de
telecommunication en passant par les commutateurs et les dispositifs
d'animation en 3D. Tous ces produits seront exposes lors de la conference IST
au sein du EISTP VIllage du 22 au 24 novembre a Helsinki.

Les 25 candidats ont ete selectionnes parmi 261 projets issus de 27 pays
europeens et Israel. Cette selection a ete faite par des experts independants
de 16 pays choisis par Eurocase. Les 3 grands gagnants seront selectionnes par
un jury special compose de hautes personnalites europeennes du monde de la
sciences, de la technologie et des affaires.
